Charlotte Community ToolBank was one of the best experiences I had all summer. No nothing extravagant or super emotionally touching happened but our time spent helping this quickly growing organization was awesome. ToolBanks are in various places all over the U.S., Houston, Atlanta, Ohio, Chicago, Virginia, Arizona, Baltimore, and Oregon! I follow them all on Twitter now too. This organization is designed to help other nonprofits with volunteer services within the community. Hundreds of tools were hung up, placed, grouped, and sat along various, stupendously organized spots in the warehouse. The team helped move and rearrange shovels, lawn mowers, chairs, gloves, ladders, grilling supplies, projectors, and a variety of other tools! We worked from 9 am til 2 pm Monday through Thursday and loved every minute of it! The feeling of doing a small task that helped more than we could even be expressed thrived the team.
One cool fact about this week was we helped pull out over 50 orders for Elevation Church's volunteer projects during LOVE week! We "divided and conquered", as Sheri, the program manager, would say. The warehouse aisles were so crowded with orders that we could barely maneuver around to finish out the final orders! It was crazy but actually really fun!
